In partnership with LEAP Africa, Kyambogo University students and local volunteers, Give Hope Uganda used Youth Day of Service to raise awareness among market vendors and surrounding communities about waste management.
The campaign combined public education with hands-on clean-up activities to demonstrate how local action can strengthen healthier neighbourhoods and urban communities.
Communities faced inadequate formal waste-management infrastructure, limited public awareness and weak accountability around collection and disposal.
